We live in a time where a liberal education is conflated with radicalism or 'leftist' ideals.   Nothing about liberal education could be farther from this presumed idea that having a liberal education makes you a leftist let alone a 'rightist'.  A liberal education simply means you learn about the entire world as it stands, learn about the past which gives you a better way to look at the future of the world without undue prejudice.  

We all come from backgrounds that enforce certain beliefs - the history of the world has shown time and again these rigid belief systems always lead to war and suffering.
